Elizabeth Shroyer

Elizabeth SHROYER (1784 - 1868)

Franklin Recorder - 3/12/1868

DIED - At the residence of Henry Shroyer, near Maysville, March 4th, 1868, Mrs. Elizabeth Shroyer, died in the 84th year of life.

Although born in Pennsylvania, the largest portion of her life was spent in Virginia, where it was her lot to bear the responsibilities of a family of fifteen children, from whose memory her faithful counsels will never fade. At the age of sixteen she became connected with the church of Christ, and has maintained an unimpeachable Christian character for sixty-eight years. The Bible was her delight in her declining years; often did she spend hours consulting its sacred pages, after the family had retired to rest. She lived in the faith, and whom the hour of her departure came she doubtless fell asleep in Jesus.
